In classes under the Division of Turkish Folk Literature, students are introduced to various folk culture oral, written and electronic culture works which have been formed from past to present times. This works’ structure/form, type/style, content/subject, sociocultural communication and interaction/ context and function characteristics of these works and their basic interdisciplinary qualities are examined and analyzed based on modern folklore theories. Obligatory classes: Introduction to Folklore, Anonymous Folk Literature, Minstrel Literature, Sufism in Turkish literature. Students interested in this field of studies can also choose optional classes, such as: Turkish Humour Culture, Genres of Folklore, Mythologies, Oghuznames of Dede Qorqut, One Thousand and One Night, Folk Culture and Popular Culture, Reading Places (Kiraat Majlis) and Folk Books, Yunus Emre and Concept of Classic.
