The Division of Old Turkic Language
In classes under the Division of Old Turkic language, the development of the Turkic Language from historical to modern form is examined starting from the first known written sources of the Turkic Language. In this context, historical and contemporary dialects of the Turkic language are classified according to the basic works and the linguistic features of these works are discussed as phonetic, morphological and semantic. Students are given compulsory courses, such as: History of Turkic Language, Old Turkic Language: Kokturk and Uyghur Turkic, Middle Turkish I: Karakhanid and Khwarezm Turkish, Middle Turkish II: Kipchak and Eastern Turkish, Old Anatolian Turkish and they have a possibility to take optional courses, like: Intellectual Movements in Turkish World, Turkish Lexicography, Turkish Etymology and Onomasiology, Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literature of Contemporary Turkic Republics. Thus, classes aim at acquiring knowledge about Turkish culture, Turkish ways of thinking and expressions, and investigate characteristics of works in all the ways, which are their reflection.
