In classes under the Division of New Turkish Literature, detailed analysis and close reading studies are carried out in line with various literary theories by examining the recent Turkish literary works, writers, literary movements, literary communities and literary understanding. Students are given obligatory courses, such as: Autonomy in Modern Turkish Literature, Basic Concepts of Literature, Tanzimat Literature, Servet-i Fünun Literature and National Literature, Turkish Poetry in the Republican Period, Literary Theories and Hermeneutics, Turkish Short Story and Novel in Republican Period, Contemporary Turkish Poetry, Contemporary Turkish Short Story and Novel. Moreover, optional classes, such as: Classics of Western Literature, Cinema and Literature, History of Reading, Narrative Theories, City and Literature, Intertextuality in Literature, Literary Anecdotes, Literary Movements, Media and Literature, Creative Writing, Postmodern Literature, Biography, History of Theater, History of Poetics, Utopia and Dystopia aim at gaining reading, thinking, research and analysis skills by the students.
