Academic Interests:Fiction/fictionality (hikâye) in pre-modern Ottoman literature (1450-1750); the internal structure and social use of fictional texts, the representation of animals and other creatures (mahlûkât) in fictional texts, the appropriation of ancient and Islamic literatures, considering pre-modern Ottoman literature as part of world literature.

Also, he translated Gregor Schoeler’s article from English to Turkish with Yusuf Ötenkaya with the title: “Okur Kitlesi için Yazmak: Câhiz Örneği” (2022) and reviewed Konrad Hirschler’s “The Written Word in the Medieval Arabic Lands: A Social and Cultural History of Reading Practices” in 2021.
